Hello folks. I’m back, and on the correct calendar date! Rejoice as I am on time.

I’ve done quite a bit of research into what it means to be family, and one thing I find is that nobody seems to be able to pin it down. So it seems that I’m in good company, as I can’t either. Some people, for whom I mysteriously won’t provide hyperlinks for, hold that family remains in the household. It’s the social structure under one roof. That’s the traditional idea of “family”, but didn’t I argue against that on Tuesday? Then some other people say it’s a mass of people who share a particular set of values. Does that make the Tea Party Movement a family? What about families who can’t agree on anything, does that make them less of a family?

Either I’m a little late for Monday or a little early for Thursday, either way I’m not writing on time. It’s sad, I know, if you are following this blog you may have missed me yesterday. I’m sorry, it breaks my heart to break your heart, so lets try to keep the heart attacks at a minimum. Mmmkay?

This week has been an experience. For the first time, probably ever, I’ve had to be an authority figure to children. I’ve been a guide before. I’ve even kept an eye on them from time to time. Yet this is the first time I’ve ever been expected, and even needed, to exercise authority.

If I’ve learned nothing else this week, I’ve learned that I’m pretty bad at the whole authority thing.

It’s 5am, and the sun is rising. It’s going to be a beautiful day. It could be nothing else with the way Sol is peeking over the clouded horizon, tinting the sky in shades of pink and purple. Pretty as it may be, it’s going to be hot. I can smell the humidity in the air as I breath deeply waiting for my elevator to arrive. I didn’t have to wait long. At the sound of the ding I step into the elevator with my bicycle, and we ride to the top floor of the parking garage. This is where the patrons of a local hospital park, however I’m not visiting a sick friend. Instead I’m here looking for food, picking through the waste and garbage those very same patrons left behind. Read the rest of this entry »

The core of my religion is that I love cake. LOL

… and now that I’ve completely alienated all, I dunno, 5 of my readers, I’ll get started. I should probably start with the reason I’m even starting this blog in the first place, lest I start in the wrong place and have to start again. Should I start in any other place than that in which I intend to start, I shall have started in the wrong place and will have ended up playing rugby.
